Visa Information

A visa means an authorisation issued by Cyprus Republic to some third country nationals:

• for a short stay (up to 90 days within any 180-day period) or
• for transit purposes

Currently, visas and residence permits issued by the Republic of Cyprus have only validity for the Republic of Cyprus, while after its full integration into the Schengen aquis, the visas and residence permits issued by the Republic of Cyprus will give the right to free movement up to 90 days within any 180-day period in the rest of the Schengen area.

Family members of Cypriot nationals and other EU national who hold a residence card and their travel document may travel in the Schengen area for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

The Republic of Cyprus has already fully harmonized the visa procedures, the documents required, the fees and the visa sticker with the other Schengen Member States. In any case, it is recommended to the travellers to contact the Embassy or Consulate in advance where they intend to apply for further information and guidance.
